The service menu allows to download a media file from within one of the supported websites in the current folder using the yt-dlp command line tool, the successor of the more popular youtube-dl application.

Installation

From the Dolphin interface

  1. From Dolphin press the keys Ctrl + Shift + , or select the menu item Configure Dolphin;
  2. Click on the side tab Services;
  3. In the right panel click the Download new services button;
  4. Insert the search phrase download_with_yt-dlp_here in the textbox at the right side and press the Enter key;
  5. Once the data is lodaded click on the Install button.

Using the servicemenuinstaller utility

  1. Download the archive download_with_yt-dlp_here-1.1.0.tgz from one of the KDE Store/Opendesktop/Pling pages;
  2. Install:
    $ servicemenuinstaller install download_with_yt-dlp_here-1.1.0.tgz
    
  3. Uninstall:
    $ servicemenuinstaller uninstall download_with_yt-dlp_here-1.1.0.tgz
    

From the tar archive

  1. Extracting the Archive:
    $ tar -xvf download_with_yt-dlp_here-1.1.0.tgz 
    
  2. Switching to the subfolder:
    $ cd download_with_yt-dlp_here
    
  3. Install:
    $ make install
    
  4. Uninstall:
    $ make uninstall
